FAQ

What happens if a light goes out?
Trimlight comes with a lifetime product warranty. Simply reach out to your local dealer and request to have the light replaced. You may or may not be charged a labor fee depending on your location, but the faulty product will be covered under warranty.
If one light goes out, do they all go out?‍
The answer is sometimes. If the glitch or fault occurs within the RGB components then it will only affect that light. The light may turn a different color or shut off completely. If the glitch or fault occurs within the data wire of the affected light, it may affect all the lights after it in line. Either way it is a quick and simple repair, reach out to your local dealer and they will swap out the affected light which will correct any issue.
How long does Trimlight last?
Trimlight comes with a Lifetime Product Warranty. The lifetime of Trimlight depends on how often it is being used. On average Trimlight will last between 20-30 years (assuming it is only used during nighttime hours). If Trimlight is constantly left on day and night, it will significantly reduce the lifetime of the lights.
How Can I Change The Name Of The Trimlight Signal?

To rename the Trimlight signal, you need to connect to the Trimlight wifi signal, open the Trimlight app, switch the lights to manual mode, and long-press on the word Trimlight. A window will pop up with the option to rename the network. After renaming it, close the app, refresh your wifi networks, and connect to the new signal name.

Can I pair Trimlight to my home network?
Yes, Trimlight can be linked to your home network. However, please note that we can’t guarantee a successful connection due to various factors like router type, firewall settings, obstacles, and device interference. Trimlight’s app is also Alexa and Google Home compatible.
Why Won't My Trimlight Connect To My Home Network?

Although Trimlight is designed to connect to any 2.4gHz wifi signal, we cannot guarantee that it will pair with all home networks due to external factors beyond our control. Some of these factors include the type of modem/router being used, firewall and security settings on the home router/modem, obstacles between the Trimlight controller and modem/router, and potential interference from other devices such as LED lights, solar panel controllers, Tesla battery chargers, or other wifi devices.

If you are unable to pair your home network, we recommend contacting your internet provider, as some techs may be able to assist you in pairing Trimlight to your specific modem/router. However, you can always use Trimlight’s dedicated wifi signal (blue light on the controller) to connect to your Trimlight system, which is always reliable.

Why can't I program Trimlight from a computer?
Trimlight works through an app and isn’t compatible with PCs. It’s designed for iPhones, Android devices, and most Mac computers since they also support apps.
If I move, can I have the Trimlight system moved to my new home?
Unfortunately you cannot have your existing Trimlight system removed and used again on another home. Trimlight is designed to be a permanent fixture on the home and the channel is specifically ordered to match the color, style and footage of your existing home so it would not meet the criteria to be utilized on another structure.
Why Can't I Connect To My Trimlight System Anymore?

The most common reason for connection issues is a power loss at the controller or a change in the controller signal caused by a brief power outage or customer change. If a blue light is showing on the controller (quick click and release STA/AP button on the controller to toggle between blue and green), you should see Trimlight’s signal in your wifi network options.

If a solid green light is showing (quick click and release STA/AP button on the controller to toggle between blue and green), you should be able to connect to the Trimlight app using your home wifi network.

White light in RGB uses red, green, and blue together. So, the cool white option might appear slightly blue. Trimlight has a preset warm white option as well. You also have the ability to adjust your colors, including white. To adjust it, view the white light from the sidewalk and use the custom color setting. Set red, green, and blue to 255 initially, then lower blue until you’re satisfied. You can search online for RGB codes for different white shades. RGB systems do not have a clean white option. This requires an RGBW system that is not currently available in Trimlight.

Yes you can, but we recommend not overlapping your daily timer with a calendar event. For example, you can create a calendar event for a holiday and set that to run from 7pm to 11pm. Typically, LED diodes with lenses can become faded or damaged due to constant sun exposure over time. However, Trimlight’s residential lighting has no lens or covering, just the direct LED shows out of the channel, which means Trimlight LEDs will not fade, get cloudy or become discolored over time like many other exterior LEDs. Furthermore, Trimlight residential LEDs face down and below the channel which further protects them from constant sun exposure.
